Apart from that, Bosphorus Cup aims to make sailing a popular sport among the citizens of İstanbul. Bosphorus Cup was first organized in 2002 by ORG Sports Marketing as a single day race. In the meantime, the number of participants has increased from 20's to 80's, making the event more popular by year.
Today, the Bosphorus Cup is the top sailing event in Turkey and is aiming at international participants. In the middle of May, Bosphorus is full of yachts fighting for the magnificent event Trophy.
