The SYWoC has a long history dating back to 1979 and crowns the official Student World Champions in sailing, according to the International Sailing Federation. The 31st edition (2011) of the Cup will be organized by École Polytechnique and held in Trinité-sur-Mer with the participation of the National Student Champions from 15 countries.
